Giveaways, Reviews

(sing it)

Come and listen to a story

’bout a woman named Miz.

Been around fitness

many years in the biz

Theres one cool brand

she’s always longed to TRRRRRRRY

If you read this post you will know the reason why.

Yellowman it is.  Hip prints. Tattoo-style.

Oh people.

Im a strong, strong woman.

I decided to only do giveaways *I* seek from brands—and I stuck to it!

Until the great Yellowman email of 2011.

Allow me to set the scene.

It was a Friday afternoon.  Right before Shabbat unplug time.  I checked my emails for one last time and found the one Id only ever dreamed of receiving.  A FREE Yellowman outfit & a Yellowman outfit for you as well.

I squealed.  I told Ren Man.  He totally did NOT care until he took a gander at their site and longed for a cycling jersey.  I squealed again.  It was, perhaps sadly, a thrifty misfit’s dream realized.  Ive always loved the prints. Ive always loved the cut of the products. Ive always wondered if their stuff was worth the money. Please to enjoy what I discovered.

What did I learn after I quickfast pulled my Yellowman outfit from the package:

  • The fabric is silky smooth & seems NOT to snag! I loved how it felt on my hands & as soon as I could I yanked it on on my body.
  •  What I loved was their MadKool fabric.  It wicks. It doesnt wrinkle or snag.  The outfit I received had 30+ UV protection (something this Texan loves).  It was, in short, MAD KOOL.
  • In my opinion the bottoms run big.  I initially asked for a small and ended up an extra small. (Im a small in the top).  Typically Im a small and in some brands a medium.
  • The tattoo’esque patterns are prettier and more vibrant in person!  And not garish.  At all.  I’ll admit the fear of that was part of my hesitancy.

What did I learn after wearing my Yellowman treats?

  • I adored.  The fit, the wicking, the fact the tights are perfect for Texas and *perfect* as a base layer in colder climes.  The whole shebang was everything I could have hoped for and more.

o’dark thirty & read to wog!

  • They are for work AND working out.  Suffice it to say my tank top can be seen in every situation from Pilates to (work) presentations.

off to do a social media presentation!

  • The fact it’s an outfit (read: matching. I never match.) caused me to believe it was suitable for various & sundry other non-physical activities as well.

ahh protein pancakes in the morning. I love ye, too.

Bottom line:

I adored every single solitary thing about these pieces, People**

I really have longed to try them for ages—and they did not disappoint.

That said, they are still pricey.

Now that Ive worn one (and decided, for me, it has myriad uses) I would definitely pay 59.00 for the tank top.

I wouldnt pay 89.00 for the tights, but 100% of that is the fact I now reside in Texas.  If I still lived on the east cost I probably would.  If for no other reason than the tattoo matchy thang.  Im easy like that.

Bottom bottom line (or HOW CAN YOU ENTER TO WIN?).

You USA-types can be entered to win an outfit of your own (as opposed to winning the outfit Ive worn) for the low low cost of a comment below.

If YOU had the chance to get your Yellowman on—where would you wear your prize?

Winner announced 11.14.11

** FTC the tights and tank were free.  My yammerings of lovenessment are all my own.

  10. Runner Girl says:

    TO RUN of course.

    I want your arms.

  11. Brandi B says:

I’d wear them anytime I’m running (whether that is actual running for health, running after my 6 year old who wants me to play soccer with him, running after my dog who is inevitably doing something he shouldn’t, running/nagging after my husband who is leaving his trail of stuff across all lenghts of the house, running errands, or running crazy:)

I would love to win this, Carla.
My wife’s birthday is next month and it would be a great surprise.

I wonder if I could kickbox in them?

think I’ll go run a half, do some powerlifting and find a new bike to hop on in hopes of one day being the right type :)
til then I can hope I win!
    p.s. I want your arms

  20. Lizzie says:

    LOL at the arms comments.
    I thought that too.
If Yellowman will get me those this Canadian will buy her own.

  21. Coco says:

Ooh, I seem to be low on leggings which is a problem now that the weather is getting colder! I would wear my YMX in the Hot Chocolate 15K I’m running December 3! :-)

  27. Evie says:

I love in Texas, but am always cold.

  31. Vonnie says:

  32. Caren says:

Super cute! I would wear these to the gym. Not very exciting perhaps but true nonetheless. Thanks for the give away!

  33. Sinner Ella aka Heather says:

I would wear these clothes EVERYWHERE. I’m a workout clothes lover. I wear mine to school, grocery shopping, running, mowing the yard, pretty much everywhere I go.

    Their site is amazing.

  36. Ava says:

I am most likely a large, so I’m not sure I would rock it as you did.

I’d wear my Yellowman to sing it again :)

  43. Katie says:

I love that! I’d say I’d wear it everywear, but I’m a little shy when it comes to wearing the spandex in public. I’d definitely wear it to the gym and the inevitable errands I always run afterwards.

  44. Mollie says:

    (Holy arms woman!!)

  45. Kim says:

I’ve seen the versatility and I’m sold! (not to mention I love the way the story starts…Beverly Hillbillies, classic)

  46. Amy says:

    Ooo! Pretty!

If I were to be the lucky winner, I would probably wear my Yellowman everywhere. It is getting cold up here in TN and I am a wimpy wimp. I need me a good base.

  47. Looks great! Love the design! And it’s silky smooth??? Sounds perfect!

When would I wear it? Pretty much all the time. I only wear work clothes when I teach a class and then switch into my “comfy workout clothes” the minute I walk into the door. Oh, and I could probably even wear the tank with my work outfits! :)

  48. Jo Anna says:

Where would I not wear it would be a shorter comment. Thanks for this cool giveaway!!

  49. Christie says:

I’d sport them everywhere :) … mostly while running.

  50. Erica says:

LOVE the top! I want one!!! I’d wear it to walk K!

  51. Heather Fleming says:

Those are super-cool! I’d wear mine to the normal fitness things - pilates, piyo, yoga, weight training, etc.

But most importantly, I’d layer on the pieces under my normal clothes to go to dress rehearsals because our theater is *frigid* during rehearsals, and my current knee socks/thermal shirts layering scheme is bulky and uncomfortable.

Not to mention, those layers make me over-heated the second I leave the theater and walk into a reasonable climate or the sizzling inferno that is actor dressing rooms. I need me some awesome, moisture-wicking,deliciously lightweight layering goodness!

  52. Anna says:

I’d wear the top to Zumba!!!

  53. Pattie says:

Dude they need to hire your fine ass!
I would rock these all over the city for sure.

  54. Erin says:

I was just saying that I needed some new tights!! These look great and your review is fantastic!

  55. AlexandraFunFit says:

I want to look that cheerful when it’s still really early in the morning. Must be the pancakes.

  56. Nancy says:

    I love those tights!!

  57. Dawn says:

I would wear my YMX outfit to the gym, out on the road running, to yoga, the top out shopping or on a casual date. I’d wear it to the sporting goods store and make everyone jealous… The real question is, where wouldn’t I wear my YMX?! ;)

  58. Erin says:

I’d wear it for my next 5K- the Turkey Trot. I have no matching running gear so I’d wear it all the time.

  59. Cat @Breakfast to Bed says:

I’d wear it here and there, I’d wear it everywhere, I’d wear it with a fox, I’d wear it with no socks.

  60. Shannon Lencioni says:

    These are too adorable.

I would wear them running and cycling.

  61. Dogfood Provider says:

I’d wear these mothers everywhere! I’d wear them to Walmart, to Steinmart, to Petsmart, to every mart there is.

I would definitely wear them to the Y and to yoga.

I would wear them with a tutu to the pub on Sunday, and I would knit in them while drinking a cider.

I’d wear the tank top to work.

  63. lindsay says:

LOVE IT! you look great. I think the question remains…where would i not wear it!?!

  64. Allison Peacock says:

Oh, mama! I’d wear these things from the grocery store to Pilates and look like a diva doing it. LOVE the colors and patterns.

And if I was so lucky as to score a cycling set I’d wear them on my roadie! Then Lance would not be the only one who’d have a line of men in spandex a mile long chasing me around the hill country!

  65. Christy says:

I would wear it running! I love it!

  66. Kim says:

I’d wear them everywhere! Hanging out, running errands, exercising :-)

  67. tricia says:

    um LOVE it!

I’d wear it to the bootcamp I registered for. The one that terrifies me and at the same time inspires and pushes me to reach outside my comfort zone.

I’d be outside my comfort zone while being IN comfy clothes.

  68. Polly says:

    Oh. I love these!!!

  69. Crabby McSlacker says:

You look adorable in your YMX outfit!!!

  70. Nicole says:

I would where my ‘yummy mummy’ outfit:

-to putter in the yard(as long as it wasn’t dirty work)
-of course I’d have to show it off at the ladies Bible study group!
-riding my bikel; which would make for 1 sweet ride
    -walking the dog, of cours!
-My hubby may have other suggestions as well;)

Thanks for sharing. Thanks for the opportunity!

  71. Lori Z. says:

  72. Beki - Wild Child Gone Good says:

I’d be a nevernude and wear it underneath my regular clothes for every occasion! And then rip off my outer layer Superman style when it comes time for working out!

  78. Lara says:

    Id wear to work!

    I’m a trainer :)

  79. Yum Yucky says:

I’m sorry but I’ve been blinded by your arm muskles. Will try to refocus the eyeballs so I can look at the clothes now.

  80. jen says:

I would wear mine while recovering from surgery and attending physical therapy!

  88. Keri says:

I’m going to sing that all day now, Mizzy.

  89. Julie says:

I would wear them to kickboxing! I like wearing capris/pants so that you don’t run the risk of flashing people when you kick, but since most capris are fairly heavy material I get really, really hot!

I would wear it everywhere! Gym, out running and running errands!!

  95. charlotte says:

Girl you are rocking the heck out of that outfit! I think YMX should hire you to be their fitness spokesmodel! You know I don’t need the give and am soooo with you in the Yellowman lovin’!!

  106. Melissa says:

I would wear them to bed - so I could pop out of bed ready to go on a run! I would wear them loud & proud of the twenty pounds I’ve lost in the last seven months, to rock what I’ve worked for, & to psych myself up for my first half marathon in January!!!

  107. Melissa says:

I would where mine everywhere including to bed. I’d be known in town as the Yellowman Girl. ;)

  108. Dynamics says:

    I would wear them EVERYWHERE!

  109. Victoria says:

I would wear the outfit when it’s slushy outside, but the sidewalks are just salted enough to go running outside in the winter in Boston (which goes from about now through May). And at the gym. And when going across all those invisible lines between cities, states, and countries and only changing - not halting - my workout schedule.

And when I want to feel relaxed and pretty.

  110. Heather J. says:

    I love Yellowman.

    And you :)

    I’d wear to kettlebell in!

  111. Alycia says:

The YellowMan is awesome! I would totally wear that everywhere. Yes, its perfect for working out, but would be perfect for comfy errand running as well! Thanks for the chance to win!

  112. Bridget says:

I’d wear it to the metro park to run! I’d also wear it during phone interviews to get me pumped (I secretly wear my running clothes during phone interviews instead of business clothes. I find it gives me more self confidence. And being in Michigan trying to find a job in Austin, there are ALOT of phone interviews).

    Love it!

  113. Courtney says:

I was just checking out their site last week, and I am smitten! I’m not usually matchy-matchy with my gear but is have to with such beautiful clothes. I have to wear a uniform to work, but I’m sure I’d wear them just about everywhere else!

  114. Carrie says:

I would wear it for sure, and you wear it so well ;)

  118. Ann says:

Wow! I think this is the most positive review you’ve ever posted. I’ve got to try some of this stuff!

I’m going to be boring and say I would wear it to run in. I’m finally making progress running after a few years of a difficult-to-diagnose injury, and it’s absolutely thrilling to get that runner’s high again:)

  119. Deb says:

You rock the YellowMan. Sadly for me, I have this THING about wearing tights with a top that does not cover my crotch. I feel all exposed. So I’m not sure I would ever comfortably wear the pieces together.

But I LOVE the patterns and want to think I’d wear them separately. The tank with EVERYTHING - the tights with a longer top.

  120. Lia says:

Those look and sound spectacular. I’m a yoga girl in Chicago so that’s what the outfit would be for for me :D The tights sound particularly welcome for my climates!

  121. Kaydensgma says:

I would wear YMX by Yellowman for playing tennis also while doing active things with my grand daughter. We would of course have to get matching outfits

  122. Jeanette H. says:

I would wear it out on Lady Bird Lake Trail during a training run to show off and be cute. Who says you can’t be cute and run.

  123. Laura P says:

I will say that based on your post, I’d be wearing my outfit everywhere I could. I think I’d be sad to really sweat in it but then again, I’d look good doing so and that is always a bonus.
I live in CO so I’d be able to wear the outfit for multiple seasons, too. I’m in need of good leggings as it’s colder out now and I’ve lost enough weight that I don’t have any more that fit!!!
It’s always great to know that exercise clothes are worth the price!! Glad that you are enjoying yours!!!
    Thanks, Laura

  124. Karina says:

I’d wear them to yoga, riding my bike while taking my son to school. To the grocery store, around the house…I’d wear it just about every where. I’m also nervous buying such pricey items. I’m glad to hear that they are worth the money!

  125. Hi Miz. I’m in Canada, so probably don’t qualify, but I have to say, you look FANTASTIC in this gear!!! Have a great Tuesday!!

  126. Jen says:

Oh my, I’d wear YMX everywhere possible - running, yoga, cycling, cleaning, shopping. Just about anywhere except school - I wish YMX was appropriate teacher apparel! :)

I would wear my outfit for jogging and yoga.

  128. Linda says:

I would wear it at the gym and during yoga

  129. Kate loepp says:

Yoga, tennis, strength class, and all points in between. I love YMX.

  130. Cheryl says:

I would wear mine to my gym!!

  131. Andrea L says:

I would wear mine to work and whip people into shape while flaunting my awesome outfit. I love my work clothes - working in a corporate gym rocks!!

  132. Laurel says:

ooo!! Cute! I would wear to run or bike… or maybe everywhere :)

  133. TS says:

I love the leg embellishment. Love those.
I dunno about you, but I’m freezing here in California. Fall kinda snuck up on me.

I’d definitely wear this for running, though. Or lounging. Or when family makes me do a Jack and a Squat for saying I did “jack squat” today.

  134. Mich says:

To the gym, for kettlebell intensive days.
Looking through their site, I find their men’s designs are much more striking and beautiful than the women’s designs. (That Maori Earth Blue Tri-Sport Jersey, in particular.)

  135. JillR says:

I would wear mine anywhere… to the gym, “running with the girls”, to yoga, chasing my daughter…

  136. Virago says:

I’d wear them to go running and to lift as soon as this stupid cast comes off my ankle. And I’ll really need to lift and run because I’ve had a broken ankle for six weeks and I feel like a slug!

  137. Sara P. says:

I would wear it to my 6am bootcamp. It gets cold here in foggy San Francisco!
