MizFit & the January issue of Fitness Magazine…

a marriage made in goal-setting heaven.

I told you.

I told them.

Some of the specifics may be changing—-but Im not entirely backing out.

Details coming in January & are thisclose (dare I say 99% certain?) to involving the S-word.

(uh, sponsorship. not SH*T. as in SH*TImSoNotRunningAnotherStep.)

Please to stay tuned as this one involves a TIARA.

  1. Michelle@Eatingjourney says:

I like my brussel sprouts steamed.

  2. Gemfit says:

I have never had brussel sprouts. What’s so bad about them anyway?

And yay to the S word!!

  3. Marsha @ Green Mountain at Fox Run says:

I like my brussels sprouts roasted. I call them candy when they’re prepared like that. Okay, so I’m weird. But they do get a sweet taste that amazes people.

I am so looking forward to hearing about the tiara!

  4. FLG says:

I thought the S word was going to be Supermarathon, a.k.a 100 miles!

I’m looking forward to hearing all about it!

  5. @FootDr69 says:

Congrats, Girl!!!!! You ARE My Hero!!! Can’t wait to read it!!! BTW…..I Love my “Baby Cabbage”….That’s what I called them as a kid! LOL!!
    Love Ya Lots
    Dr. Mo

  6. Lance says:

    Woohoo!! Awesomeness!!!

  7. Helen says:

I can’t wait to hear and my goal has always been to be in Shape Magazine.

    A success story :)

  8. Miz says:

you all make me laugh and Id expect NOTHING LESS than for you to call me out on my lack of b-sprouts love.

I have to admit making em taste like CANDY is a smidgetad alluring…

  9. Cammy@TippyToeDiet says:

I won’t even type *that vegetable*. Ick!

  10. Lara says:

I can’t wait to hear about the S WORD (which for me would be SHIT I AM NOT RUNNING :) ).

When will we get an update Mizzy??

  11. Yum Yucky says:

Oh Sh!t, I better go exercise (like run or something) because my stomach sponsor-hosted too many cookies last night.

I assume your sponsorship is better. I will stay tuned.

  12. Jessica says:

    Awesome!!! Congrats, girl!! :)

  13. Alissa says:

I have a subscription to Fitness magazine and I was flipping through the magazine and saw your picture and I was like, Hey! I know her! haha :) Very cool!

  14. Nan says:

I freaked out when I saw you!
We 40 and over women need you to represent there on a monthly basis!

Have you ever thought about asking them to write a column?

  15. Erica says:

ah! SO freaking cool. Running out to get my copy today!

  16. Karen says:

charlotte of GFE and it is SERIOUSLY the best compliment Ive ever received (please to not inform the Ren Man).

Who was it that said you are a rational voice in an irrational industry?

That is why Fitness Mag should hire you.

    Run MizFit run!

  17. Cindie says:

I just got my Fitness mag in the mail the other day. I haven’t had a chance to flip through it yet….time to pull it out!

  18. Betty says:

Congrats and all that but more than that YOU ARE FORTY?!!

  19. Donna Bush says:

AWESOME! Good for you, my friend. Can’t wait to hear more details when time is right. I will proudly admit that the thought of brussel sprouts makes me gag. My mom made them when I was little & ruined me - pressure cooking them makes the whole house smell like a 4-day old fart. Gross! Keep us posted!!!

  20. Jody - Fit at 52 says:

I have read my Fitness mag yet.. are you in it??? CRAP, I have been submitting myself to mags for years & still can’t get in! Tell me the secret!! How exciting for you!

Running is the same to me & I don’t like brussel sprouts either BUT I do it & I get great accomplishment from the fact that I do it & HIIT too!

    Can’t wait to hear more!

  21. MB says:

I’m not a big fan of brussel sprouts but actually enjoy the cardio.

There is no backing out now that you told everyone, including Fitness magazine. I’m going to have to pick up a copy and check it out.

Can’t wait to hear about your training and successful completion of the marathon. Run Forrest Run …

  22. seeKatyrun says:

I just got my first issue of Fitness and was flipping through it at my sister’s this weekend. I literally shrieked when I saw your picture — I had no idea you were going to be in it. Awesome!

  23. Miz' Neighbor says:

Of course I’m so flipping excited you are in the magazine and I giggle at comment 21.

I know you too well, Woman.

You are totally on track to run this but if you decide you don’t want to—-you wont.

I love to see you training.

  24. Ron says:

  25. Jenn (eating bender) says:

Yayayayayay! So exciting, MizFit :) Can’t wait to hear more details.

  26. Crabby McSlacker says:

Love the picture and the quote! And can’t wait to hear the details of the s-word possibility.

And to me, it’s weights that are my brussel sprouts! Running is like my green smoothie-healthy but actually pretty darn enjoyable! But then I’ve never tried to go 26 miles. It would be like drinking green smoothies for every freakin’ meal and snack. (I blame my knees and feet but there are LOTS of other reasons I don’t have the motivation to give a marathon a go).

    Good luck with your training!

  27. Marianne says:

Totally Roasted. I made 2 lb last week and my family sucked them down. Cut off the stem ends, halve them lengthwise, toss with olive oil to coat, kosher salt and pepper to taste, and bake at 400, shaking occasionally, about 30 minutes or until they are golden brown (easiest to tell on the cut side. Mmmmmmm!

Now a marathon? THAT’S unpalatable!!! LOL

  28. Leah J. Utas says:

I love brussels sprouts. I’d rather eat them than run a marathon.
    Good for you.

  29. Shannon says:

ooh, are you going to run in a tiara?? fun :) congrats on the fitness appearance!!

  30. Lauren says:

Your readers are hilarious as would you be running in a tiara :)

The mag is lucky to have you! Where is their post LOL

  31. Lauren says:

Oh and thank you to Marianne!

  32. Sagan says:

    GO MIZ GO!

I’m of the same mind. With both the notion of marathon-running and Brussels sprouts. :)

    And tiara? Sponsorship? Hells yes.

  33. Jen, a priorfatgirl says:

aaaahhhhh…..its in writing, now backing down now! I am so exciting from you, I love the picture!

  34. Gigi says:

So exciting, Miz!! Can’t wait for the rest! Congrats!

  35. Andrea@WellnessNotes says:

I used to not like Brussels sprouts at all, but now I love them. I wonder if I could learn to love running enough (and learn not to injure myself) to run a “serious” race??? :)

Congrats on the Fitness Mag. feature. Great pic!

And it sounds there are awesome things happening for you… I’m so happy for you! Awesome! :)

  36. debby says:

That IS a really great action shot of you! Are they thinking of doing a serial of your training and preparation-that would be a great story to follow.

  37. Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman says:

So true! I’m not a big fan of cardio, either, but I pick a goal and (try to) stick to it. Brussels sprouts, though? Eh, I’ll pass.

  38. Mere says:

    I love Debby’s idea!!

I would subscribe for that ;)

  39. Lori (Finding Radiance) says:

    WooHoo! She’s even more famous!

    And I love brussel sprouts - roasted….. yum…..

  40. Andrea @ MommySnacks.net says:

Oot Oot!!! So excited they have someone I respect in Fitness! Even if you don’t like brussel sprouts - does Tornado know about this??

I have been so out of the virtual loop - I didn’t know you are running a marathon, woman!!! I have been saying I’m doing a half, but not officially committed. It’s official now. WE can virtually train together…although you will be training longer than me!

  41. MizFit says:

alas that’s all Im getting from Fitness Magazine (unless you count my VISION BOARD as up on therre I made the cover :) ).

but what you guys said totally made me recall this video I shot begging More Magazine to hire me & let me yammer about my marathon training in their pages:

    they said no.
    actually that’s not true.
    They never responded.

  42. Linda says:

feathers always look best with a tiara!

  43. South Beach Steve says:

This is pretty cool, but my curiosity is up on what is to come.

  44. Garrett says:

I enjoy your blog. Gorgeous picture. Congratulations.

  45. Hanlie says:

You are such a role model! Love you to bits!

  46. Aka Alice says:

Nothin’ wrong with the “s” word. Can’t wait to read more!

  47. Stacie says:

Did you really send that video to More Magazine?

I’m *cough* 45 *cough* and am just not a fan of their publication (sorry).

It is dull to me and I would pick Fitness over it any day.

    They should hire you, Miz.

  48. tj says:

You ROCK Miz! Totally AMAZING! :)

  49. Hangry Pants says:

    That’s awesome. I guess I love Brussels Sprouts. :)

  50. MizFit says:

    ok, true confessions MizFitStyle:

nary a sprout has ever passed my lips.

    I KNOW.

and then I slander them in print.

    For shame! For shame!

  51. Lyn says:

Wow, that is super cool! MizFamous!

Yeah, you have to roast the sprouts though!

  52. Geosomin says:

I avoided them for years until my hubs begged me to make them. Turns out I like brussel sprouts.
    Who knew? :)

  53. Diane Fit to the Finish says:

    You rock!!!! Congratulations!

  54. Shelley B says:

The sprouts taste GREAT steamed and sprinkled with salt and pepper (and butter, if you like to live dangerously!) - I love them!

How very cool about the mag - love that your picture is in there as well!!! Hope you do get the sponsorship! Oh, and More mag is missing out on you - I am a subscriber and think I will now email them and tell them that!

  55. Tricia says:

    Wow, how neat.

And I pretty much LOVE brussel sprouts. Roasted brussel sprouts is the dish I picked as my “must have” for Christmas dinner. Poor things are so mistreated.

  56. Dawn says:

Ewwww on brussel sprouts but way cool on you being in fitness magazine. I played some Mizfit catchup today *smile*. Loved all the pictures of the tornado and you and the Renman. Looks like you are all living it up pretty good with Latkes for dinner and breakfast lol. Glad to hear they turned out well.

  57. Alicia says:

YAY love it! Now I’ve got to find my edition….

  64. Mary Meps says:
